Oil pressure increased

When I replaced the left cam oil line and the little line that feeds the chain tensioner, my oil pressure has increased by a full bar. I.e., at 3K rpm, the pressure is at 4 bars. At 2K rpm, the pressure is at 3 bars.

I know this is a good thing, but wonder if those lines over time, oil flow diminishes because of oil varnish etc.

Less restriction = less oil pressure... I would almost wonder if you don't have a blockage in your new lines.

I'll pull it again tomorrow and check. If those lines were restricted, I would certaintly know/hear it in a very short period of time if that chain tensioner was not being fed oil.

That tiny line to the tensioner couldn't possibly raise oil pressure that much if plugged! It is the line to the cam spray bar that you should be worried about ... and you wouldn't hear anything until the cam had been ground flat!!!

What Warren said, and why I'm skeptical about the "restrictors"-while increased pressure may be a good thing elsewhere in the motor, the part getting less oil volume may not be happy.

Checked again,

The Cam oil lines are getting hot and once the car got to operating temps;

Idle pressure is at .5 bars and

3K rpm is at about 3.2 bars.

Recently went from the 10-30 to the 20-50....duh....
