who has added -1 deg of front camber?
I would like to hear from guys that have added about -1 deg of camber on the front and or a little toe out, my goal is to dial out a little understeer. My susp is stock except for Bil sports and TT rods. I am running Kumho MX 205/225 on 7 & 8 in fuchs.
As always thanks, Jack 87 Carrera |

I have almost 2* I got 2+ real easy on one side, but couldn't on the other even after pulling the strut tops together with the strut brace and "reshaping" the hole a bit with a hammer. Elephant offset bushings will add about a degree, if I'm not mistaken.
But, I guess that is not the question. 1* is doable on any car that is not bent badly. And, 1* is not too much for a lot of street/highway driving. AFA toe out, I don't think that is much fun on the street, but you can add it before a DE, autox or fast run through the hills and then return it to normal for the rest of the time. Here in SoCal we have grooves in the freeways and the cars with any toe out jump all over the place. |

Should help a little. I did mine several years ago. The toe out will help initial turn in. The camber change will increase the contact patch under heavy load.
Of course other things like tire pressure, front sway bar, rear sway bar, front shocks and torsion bars also come into play. The down side is increased inside front tire wear for a street driven car and less self tracking. If it was my car I would soften the front sway bar or lower the front tire pressure a couple pounds. I run a 2 to 5 pound difference front to rear depending on the track and temperatures.

These rubys will give you one more degree negative over your stock setup.....I can't tell you if they add harshness as my car was harsh before

I got -1.5 on one side and -1.9 on the other but only after adding Chuck's decambered ball joint (gives 3/4 deg extra). Our cars are hand built so none of them are really straight and some off the factory floor will struggle to get -1.
No problems as a daily driver. Lot less understeer than stock, but then there no longer is anything stock about my suspension. Simon

I run -1.25 neg camber on my daily driver/track car. I acheived that with the Elephant Racing camber plates.
With a stock set up it is going to be difficult for it to mantain the position under heavy load. You cannot tell the difference on the street, period. Tire wear is going to be uneven... so budget for that accordingly if yyou do not do that many track days... |

I run -1.75 up front and -2.5 in the rear. I could get a lot more than that if I wanted in the front, but this seems to be working well. Zero toe in the front.
Cheers

Wider is Better

I run -1 with zero toe in the front. I like the handling as it is set up, but it is a street only car (so far).

I have -1.19 in front and -2.44 in rear with
0.0625 (1/16) toe in in front and 0.02 tow OUT in the rear. A local p-car shop recommended the toe out and I agreed to it against my better judgement. I run S03s 225/45 and 245/45 16s and the car is pretty neutral. It understeers on entry and oversteers on exit depending on throttle input.

I have about -1 at both fronts. I know over time my inside edges are going to experience more wear. I have heard that some will swap the tire and wheels at the front every 500 - 1000 miles to rotate the wear pattern, so to speak. Does anyone here do this and if so, any down sides, besides expense, pain in the a$$/

My tires have a "rotational" pattern (check your sidewall... if therer is a samll arrow then yours have it too) so I cannot swap left to right.

The tires are not directional (I think that's the term). Anyone swapping the tires with the wheels?

Matteo,
You could swap left to right but it would mean taking them off the wheels and remounting. Unless they are assymetrics.

Richard
u are right... I do not think theyare asimmetrics... Then again the track days should make up for the uneven wear on the street... Tires are new now... we'll see in 3-4k miles. |

Actually, dismounting, swapping and then remounting was what I had in mind, the little arrows would still be pointed in the right direction and your worn, inner edges are now on the outside.
Too much of a pain every few thousand miles?

I have about -1.5 up front using the Wevo camberking. Just under -1.0 is all I could get using the stock upper mounts.
