Rear Light Question

The rear light assembly was recently replaced on my '88 930 as part of a repair that was being done. I have since noticed that it looks as though an interior reflector is missing from the light bulb mounted on the side of the car. (really poor description I know) I will try and take a picture tonight of it and post, but essentially the light bulb that faces the side of the car is completely exposed underneath the red lense. The other side appears to have almost a plast baffle that masks the bulb behind the lense.

If anyone knows what I am referring to and knows whether or not this is a seperate piece that can be removed and replaced, or if my light assembly is shot, I would appreciate any feed back.

Thanks

If you take the lense off, You just might find the little piece that goes in front of the bulb .
I beleave it is glued in place and can be re-glued if you find it.

Found mine laying in there.

Rob,

On '73 lenses, that was a separate, rectangular piece 2" x 3" or so ... held in place by two spring clips, and I would describer it as a diffuser/reflector. I was clear so that the bulb would be visible under it when illuminated ... but the outer surface was the classic diamond/corner reflector pattern! I assume that the design stayed the same thru the end of '89 production, but don't know for sure.

It sounds to me as though there was a piece left behind after the repair was done on your car ... you might want to check with the shop that did the work. Taking off the other side lens could confirm my description.

The shop is looking into it... I know they will make it right one way or the other but want to understand exactly what is missing.

Thanks

I've had the same piece missing on one of my assemblies since I've owned it. Let us know if you find a source for that specific part.
