I'd be flattered. If you're serious, mail it to me at Box 455, Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York 12520. Or better yet, find an excuse to drive out and we'll go play, have som lunch, whatever. I'm at stephwilkinson@earthlink.net if you want directions. It's a fabulous drive up the Palisades and 9W.
Can't remembver if I used my 9W joke in the book, but it's the answer to the question, "Do you spell your name with a vee, Herr Wagner?" Stephan |
Steve,
I have the spoiler mounted B & B cooler also. I had the same experience with the hot fittings on the side and cool to the touch on the opposite side of the cooler. I did the same thing as you, running it as hard as I could w/o getting pulled over. It was warm on the fitting side and cool to the touch on the opposite. At this point, I was thinking to myself that I just wasted 2 weekends installing this thing, since it was not getting 100% flow. I ran it hard again...The proof was in the oil temp: 75-80 ambient and I was running at 190-195. Then at the track all day long at 93-95 ambient I was running at 190-195 (maybe 200). It certainly was below the 210 mark all day. In traffic it's a different story...no airflow = higher temps (215 -220). But, the instant I get about 4-5 city blocks of airflow it drops immediately. I have it installed in series with my fender-mounted Carrera cooler (w/ fan). The only way I could get the opposite side to heat up was to rev the motor to 2500 while stopped. Then I cooled it down again and it was only slightly warm to the touch. I’ll most likely have to block it off when the colder days come. It’s on my 77 930 and I have the oil going in on the bottom and out on the top with ductwork that directs the flow under the car. |
