reliability of 1990-94 911s vs. other years?
Hi,
Besides the well-known dual mass flywheel issues, how is the general reliability of the 1990-94 911s vs. other years? I am looking for a used 911 to use as a daily driver (probably about 9,000 miles per year), with some potential time on the track. I would like to minimize the time and money spent on repairs. Thanks for any thoughts. Shane |

Hard to say. They changed a lot beginning w/ 1989 c4, and only time will tell...how many 964 owners have 200k miles or something?
Mine seems reliable. The AC didn't work. I had it refilled today and the compressor changed. Hopefully it will stay cool...we'll see.

Very reliable. Just look for a '92-'94. Or a '90-'91 that got the cylinder update and top-end overhaul.
These are without a doubt the best bang for the buck, and the most undervalued Porsche out there. Do a little lightening, and they make an awesome track car starting point.

FYI Rennlist.com has a great 946 community.
http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=59 From everything I've heard, if you buy well, they're great cars. Like Tyson said...most undervalued Porsches out there. I'm hoping to add one to my collection when my T is "done".
