Fuel pump running
After starting and stoping my engine a few times while chasing down my plug wires, I now have a new problem.
The fuel pump now runs as soon as I turn the key insted of only while cranking/ running. I checked the CIS sensor plate and it is down were I should be. Also the pump is very load....... ![]() Any ideas? Im thinking the relay is fried because of pump draw... Did I mention that my Hight/low beam switch smoked the day before?? This car is killing me.

Did you check the sensor plate switch, or just the plate's resting position? Try checking the switch with a continuity tester when the engine is off and the plate is at rest. It should be closed (positive continuity).

Switch is located up near the intake. I can't remember off-hand but am having similiar problems with mine and have to investigate why.

Any other ideas as to what might cause this?
All I did was crank to motor about four seperate times while trouble shoot my plug wires.

You say:
The fuel pump now runs as soon as I turn the key insted of only while cranking/ running The way this usually happens is that the air plate cutoff circuit is not working right. This circuit consists of the air plate switch and the relay. If the switch is disconnected, the pump runs with the ignition on, even if the engine is not running. Did you check that switch on the air plate? If you knocked the connector off, or crimped/broke the wire, your pump runs as you describe. So it is possible that when you were poking around the plug wires the air plate switch or the wire going to it were disturbed. Check it out. If you want details on that circuit, there is a wiring diagram here: Please explain the air plate switch wiring.
