What is best way to ship wheels

What is the preferred method of packaging wheels to be shipped across the country?

Wheels are without tires.
Obviously need additional protection over the basic cardboard box.

Depends on the box-go to a tire place and see if they have some wheel boxes they're discarding. I kept the boxes my Fuchs were shipped in-very heavy and designed to fit the wheels. Then wrap them in bobble wrap, and you should be good.

I've double boxed wheels for shippment.

Go to Home Depot and buy a large sheet of the white or pink foam insulation. You then cut into smaller squares to line the floor and walls of the first box. Actually, you will likely be safe with foam at the top and bottom of the box.

Chances are Discount Tire or somewhere similar will have the exact size boxes to fit the wheels. They sell wheels all the time and discard the boxes. You can then double box for xtra safety.
