Cool

Do you mean those rubber isolators? Maybe screw in?

those isolators are a puzzle till you rip one up.
look carefully and you will see the end of the screw has a washer like base that is covered by the rubber. Take your puerto rican socket set, ( vice grips ) and grip at the base of the rubber..the bottom of the rubber where it meets the intake ...feel the metal ring under your grips then twist to unscrew. if you just grab em in the the middle they will most likely tear.

They have those little belt wrenches at Sears that works well for getting them out without tearing the rubber.

"puerto rican socket set"?

I simply CANNOT believe you said that. And before anyone goes off the deep-end, I'm no ultra left-wing, politically correct freak.

Actually, I'm pretty conservative, but after spending 12 years active duty I can't tolerate these kinds of statements. Unbelievable, and I would hope that I speak for the majority when I say its not welcome either!

No, I agree. But maybe you're a 'Rican? I had a 'Rican girlfriend who used ot make those jokes all the time -- she was a pure mathematician (group theory) so that might have made her sense of humor pretty crazy.

Even if you are, no one can tell online. When you get right down to it, it looks like an ethnic slur, and nobody needs that.

Hmmm... I think that's really reaching. I hear disparaging comments all the time about 'American iron'. Am I to be offended because I'm American?

There is no 'ethnic grouping' associated with the term 'Puerto Rican'. It's a commonwealth. Are comments about English and French engineering taboo also now for fear of offending someone?

The knees are jerking...

no aplology given, no insult intended, i am from the islands, and lived on pr for many years. it is simply coloful language that is in common use. in use by the same pr people who created it to humorusly look at the their sometimes poverty stricken lives and wonderfuly ability to make do. looks like some of you need to get out more

If it makes anyone feel any better I grew up calling a crescent wrench a Mexican metric. I think that it is ok for people to make fun of themselves sometimes, it is good for the heart. IMHO people get overly serious about all of this PC nonsense.

Dustin,
I am sure the reference was not intended maliciously...Take a chill pill, a deep breath, and relax.

Good to see you had a good experience with the extrudehone guys. Did they bench test before and after? Any numbers?

Oh, the PR remark was stupid....or at minimum poor judgement to post on a public forum.
