924 Seats
I'm looking to upgrade my worn out 1972 911 seats and have seen some nice 924 seats for sale, these look very similar to some a friend of mine had in his 77 911 targa. What I want to know is what modifications if any would I need to make the 924 seats fit in an early 911? The guy told me his runners were 37cm apart whereas mine are 43cm apart can the runners be moved out?
Thanks Steve |

Adapters should do it. Hell you can make them ..I did. Flat stock 1/4 or 1/8 x1.75 at Home Depot. You will have to have a trailer shop or someone make seat belt "ears" and weld them on to the new rails if your belt receptors are mounted on your old seats. I converted my 70 to 74 seats that way.

One on each side to keep the seat centered, and level side to side. You CAN buy them (do a search on seat conversion) but they are like $110.00 + per seat. I made mine for $8.00 in materials and $15 for the welding. Oh and welcome to the board on your second post!

What about the locking mechanism that locks the runners for adjusting the seat position, dose this need to be modified?

no ..it stays. it just bolts to the adapter instead of the floor.

Install Boxster seats!
They are readily available and easy to install with minor drilling on the existing frame supports. There are a couple of threads on how to do the install.

I could try. Not much to see as the seats cover most of it.
