Front bumper cut
I'm installing a Setrab front oil cooler but don't want to modify the tub to keep the car within PCA racing rules. I need to notch the front bumper bottom lip about 2 inches. The question is: can I do that with a jig saw or I need some special tool (torch - don't want because of heat and paint don't match) to make the cut. Need advise...

I think a jigsaw would do it. Just remember to use a suitable blade (the bumper is aluminum) and tape the bumper itself or the bottom of the saw to avoid scratches.

Thank you Paul, I didn't know the bumper is made out of aluminun, I assumed it was made out of steel (being a bumper = very strong = steel) wrong!!!

I've done this exact op - its pretty easy.
I also used a hole saw to zap about 7 holes on the face of the bumper -

Paul, it is a 78 930 and I am tying to maintain the original front valance with a minor modification to install the cooler; you know, one of those "engineering" projects... I personally don't like those aftermarket valances that go all the way to the front of the bumper. We'll see. When I'm done I'll post pictures of it.

Miguel,
How did you make out cutting the bumper. I am about to do the same thing. I also want to keep it PCA legal. Would be interesting in any advice. Thanks, Earl
