Rick, Pardon me if I chime in here but I keep thinking about this engine conversion thing. Id be willing to bet with proper lubrication and a few people here working with shoehorns we could get that engine in, but you sure would walk awful funny.

Mean while, back at the crack pipe, I recovered from my attempt at reality only to discover it wasn't me.

.... link to the 'real' pic-page I've just started for the 930:

In attempt to salvage face .... another pic-page link about restoration of an Italian breed .... my hands bled more than once in that two year span:

Ha! See .... no Chevy V8 there either .... :D

Beautiful car, Rick. So, are you going to give us an idea of how many miles it has on it, how long the PO had it, why he decided to part with it, approx. what you gave for it, etc., etc. I think a bunch of us would love to have one just to hang on to as a piece of art and history. Hard to imagine it's almost 30 years old.

If there are that many mouse droppings in plain view, you really shouldn't be driving it until you've thoroughly, thoroughly cleaned it. There are all sorts of fun diseases you can get from that stuff, as well as the possibility of mice nesting on cylinder heads, cooking the engine, in the a/c system (smuggler's box), making the stuff extra breathable, having chewed through electrical wires, causing a potential fire, etc. etc. etc.

Nice car though, and welcome.

First I am the butt of some ones joke, then others are glad for my misfortune...

Sounds like a new reality show.

hoosierdaddy 07-24-2005 02:23 PM

Uh........ does this mean you're NOT giving the motor away ?

DustinTarditi 07-24-2005 04:14 PM

Nope - this story is legit - I've known Rick for about 6 years now... he's got that kind of luck sometimes.

Sorry about the engine "give-away" joke... you have to know him to see the humor in it :-)

pa911 07-24-2005 04:21 PM

On here a deal is a deal,So now you have to give Austin the engine:p

Yes, Ill put a call in to my lawyer team tomorrow. A 930 would make a good stable mate...

azasadny 07-24-2005 04:56 PM

Rick,

Congrats! Looks like a beauty! I'm glad the whole "should I put a Chevy engine in it" was a joke!

pa911 07-24-2005 04:57 PM

Looks like you've got about 768 witness's so far.

DustinTarditi 07-24-2005 04:58 PM

Uh-oh... Head for the hills, Rick - the crowd is getting nasty! :-)

Hey Dustin ... 'Thanks' ... sincerely ... for sending me here to begin with, and for helping bail me out.

Austin: I'd like to openly apologize to you .... I screwed up, I'll shoulder all the blame. You did nothing wrong at all.

All: Hey gang .... go ahead ... finish whipping me so we can move along. ( and so this embarrassing thread will die ... )

Whew!

Rick

{ Dustin: Thanks for stepping up. Ya prefer Paypal, check, cash or spare parts? }

DustinTarditi 07-24-2005 05:02 PM

Damn - I thought putting in a "good word" might score me first dibs on the "old" 930 engine you had. ;-)

pa911 07-24-2005 05:07 PM

You should at least live up to part of the deal and let Austin take it for a spin:D
