dash speaker grill
Searched but couldn't find an answer in the archives.
What kind of clips do I need to hold my dash speaker grill in? The mounting studs on it appear in good shape, but the holes in the dash are much bigger than the studs. Are these special unobtainium clips, or can somebody recommend the correct hardware from Home Depot to fix this?

I am not actually sure what PET stands for, but it is basically the old microfiche system used by Porsche for parts and diagrams. You can actually buy a the cd in a few places for $25 bucks or so. Someone offered it to me at one point.
Anyway, call your friendly P-car dealership/parts centre and ask if the person can email you the proper diagram and part number for what you are looking for. I have been lucky enough to have our local dealership guys send me appropriate PET stuff when needed. Hope that helps. Mat |

Call Sunset Porsche Parts Dept. up in Portland, OR. They advertise in EXCELLENCE. The grill posts slide into soft plastic plugs that must be missing on your car. While ordering the plugs, also order a PET CD. Dealers now sell them, covering all models, for around $20. It's like having a parts catalog. Our host may also carry, or be able to get these items.
I'd try Pelican first as a thanks for hosting this board. ![]()

Thanks for the info, guys! I'll make the calls on Monday - Now if I can just get someone to walk me through replacing the dial light in my circa 1970 Becker Europa. (please see other thread "Radio dial light")

FWIW - Stopped at Stoddards in Willoughby yesterday and they actually had the little clips in stock. ($3.50 each) Also picked up the PET CD for $6.00 and a sweet repro orange hood crest. Those guys really rock for hard to find early car stuff!

The PET is also available at the Porsche web site, free of charge.
