Early Pre Servo Brake Advice
I have just about got my first ever 911 on the road after its rebuild due to an engine fire. Its a 1972 911t and its going for its MOT test TMRW, This is the compulsory test we have in the UK that all 3 years and older cars must have every year before they can be driven legally on the public roads.
What im wanting to know is what the pre servo brakes are like performance wise and what upgrades are possible and recommended for the early cars? is it possible to get the servo from a later model to fit? Thanks Steve |

Steve, if the bakes in your car are in good condition they will perform fine.
There are many options open to you with regards to upgrades, but one of the easiest is to fit brakes from a later 911. Using the 3.2 set up is a common upgrade (that is what I am using on my 1971 car). You will probably also have to change your front struts as well if they do not have 3.5inch ears (the mount spacing which the S and later callipers use). If the 2.4 motor is standard, the car is not being tracked and the brakes are good, they will be fine for your car. Thanks Alan.UK
