RSA door handle trim
Installed some Appbiz RSA door panels. What's the trick to getting the trim that hides the door handle screws to lock in place? I've straightened the door hand a little but still can't get the trim pushed into the door far enough to catch the clips.
I'm thinking double back tape or adhesive. Suggestions? BTW - 6 lbs total removed from each door. Includes speaker at 1lb. Thanks, |
On mine we had to do the opposite, bend the tabs on the handle OUT a bit so the plastic would actually snap into it, but too much and it'll be too loose and they won't snap, took quite a bit of fiddling.
Once you get it right they will be really hard to snap/unsnap, and should stay in place just fine. |
I think we did the same thing on the door handle. Your bending OUT I assume you mean away from the door panel.
I did this as well but still can't get the trim to snap in place. Sounds like I just need to keep bending. |
I had that problem. The easy fix for me was to put 1 to 2 washers behind the door pull handle (between the handle and the door panel. Then screw it in as before. The trim will snap right over it and be very secure (hard as heck to get back off).

I did the same as Sean - shim the handle out.

Wait, that's so much easier than the pliers and bending, it can't be right. ;)
*looks around for some nylon washers that were just sitting here* |
