Once you buy it, what are you going to do with it??? It's doomed to be a museum piece forever, I fear. poor car..

has to be the single most pissed-off carrera on the entire planet. i'd be afraid to sit in it for fear it might shout 'tease' and bite me!

I would wonder about a car with 75 miles. The seals are not even wet. It probably wouldn't know what to do on the highway.

I saw it on ebay. Started a few days ago. Starting price $50,000. Original window sticker was 48k.

Paintings belong in a museum to be admired, appreciated and maybe even longed for.
Sculpture should be interacted with; walked around, sat on, touched. This car was never designed to be seen from afar; it is sculpture with a purpose. I find this very sad.

My 87 Targa had a sticker of $43,985. Is that a cookie sheet under the car?

If it doesn't sell, think the owner would part it out. I'll take the center council, the tool kit, and trunk carpet.

What about this perspective?
Brand New Fully Loaded Boxster S or Brand New Carrera (87 Vintage)?

Well the boxster will depreciate, even if driven less than 75 miles total (for at least the next 10 + years). As long as this thing isn't driven, it should not depreciate.
Still kind of a waste, unless $65k is pocket change. This is garage furniture, I guess.

My mechanic is currently working on a 1987 924S that has only 400 original miles on it. Original tires, original oil filter, everything. Owner wants to sell it for $15,000+, which my mechanic believes to be a fool's game because nobody is going to want to buy a car that they cannot drive.

I got it!
This guy can just give me the car and I will put 20K miles on it. Then when I am done I will give it back to him and he can try to sell it for 40K!

This would make a great car for Ron's next "big ride"...as long as he kept a close eye on the tach, didn't strain the weak rod bolts of the '87...
