I need HELP!!!
I have been getting an electrical problem on my 1980 930 where my car will start fine but then sometimes it doesn't. (now it won't start at all unless I run power directly to the fuel pump) The fuel pump does not run and the windows and horn stop working (all relays that run through the ignition switch) I replaced the fuel pump (it was old anyway) I check power to the fuel pump and the ground. It is okay. I am guessing that it has to do with the ignition switch since all of these functions stopped working at the same time and they all run through the ignition switch for power. Any thoughts?

If you have the factory alarm still hooked up you may need to bypass it. Do a search with my name and alarm bypass. I went through this about 2 yrs ago.

Try checking for a good, solid connection at the firewall. It very well could be an ignition switch problem, but it costs nothing to check the firewall connections. Next time it wont start, try jiggling the connections while cranking and see if something "good" happens. I had this problem on a '76 and thought I would never find the problem.
