Front Shock Rubber Bumper?

Just trying to wrap up my home alignment. I've read on other posts that the rubber bumper at the top of the Boge front shock (under the dust cover) should be reduced or removed to maintain some shock travel when lowered to Euro or less.

So, my question:

Remove completely? Or cut in half? What's the consensus?

The shocks are old. I did the rears 2 months ago & the fronts will be done in the fall or spring.

87 Cab is the beast.
