What do you think to a custom SC side graphic?

I have been in discussions with Michael about having some custom side graphics made for my sc. I do like the original Carrera Graphics, but thought it might be cool to have side graphics with the 911sc logo instead.

What do you all think? My original idea is for something about the same size as the PORSCHE graphics that some have down the side in black, so a solid black line with the sc logo either towards the back or front of the car? I am not very good with Photo Shop, so can not draw an example of what I am talking about - so you will have to use your imagination :D

While I like the idea, I think the staggered 911 SC would look bad on the side of the car. I think if you want to put the 911 SC on the side it would look better if it was done in the same style as the "porsche" graphics, as you mentioned. Kinda like this:

-----------------------
==911 SC=====
-----------------------

Just my $0.02 :)

Yes, that could work. But it would be nice to get the actual SC logo in there?!?

I have the original PORSCHE font that I can do the 911 SC in....and then do it in either positive or negative style....http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1122674130.jpg

From a design standpoint the staggered SC logo doesn't look right with the horizontal lines of the side of the car. Works fine on the rear deck as these lines flow vertically. Again, just my $0.02 worth.

So you think 911 SC in the original PORSCHE font, and not staggered. OK. So next. The 911 SC at the fron or the back end of the car?

You could also do the full PORSCHE 911 SC, that would probably fill the side nicely? Would have to photoshop that up to get a better idea? And I like the lettering using the positive space.

I recently put the 'Carrera' graphic on my yellow SC. I then wrote to the guys in Malta to see if they could do just the word 'Super' in the same font to apply above and to the left. SC, after all, stands for Super Carrera the last I heard. I never heard back from them but still have that on my mind.

Malta????

I can do that ..... but the size of the Carrera will be less....you could put it positive script above the solid stripe in smaller lettering...

Ha....too funny, I have been thinking of this same exact thing. You could use the same script as for the 356 Super 90, or something similar, along with the Carrera decals. I think it would be totally slick. And, yes, SC does stand for Super Carrera.

SC = Super Carrera. How about the standard Carrera graphic with super leading off.

====== Super Carrera ======

Vipergrün 07-29-2005 05:48 PM

I like the idea of 'Super' being quite a bit smaller and slightly angling up over the top-left side of the 'Carrera' script. I like the whole 'Super Carrera' for the ducktail, though. Mikey Z, how bout some prototypes :)

Dunno....looks wierd...used italiciized Porsche font in bold....

Seems like cursive would be better....

Hej Pĺl !

Why don´t you just upgrade to a Carrera ! :D

Or better yet, lets do a window sticker with the proud words : Pelican Heads - Scandinavia !

Mark Wilson 07-30-2005 07:51 AM

bling

Drdogface 07-30-2005 09:24 AM

Mikey....I screwed up and had those Maltese boys do my graphics....mea culpa....and I chose a newer script instead of the old standby. I guess it's really not 'correct' for my year but...oh well...I like it OK. I never did hear back from them re: the smaller word 'Super' to go above and/or in front in the same script style but smaller. Doubt you can duplicate that script but would be most happy if you could. Pic below.

I also kinda like the idea of slightly slanting the added word a bit. Might be tricky though. Maybe level placement just above the 'a' and on the same level as the top of the "C" with the upper case 'S' the same size as the lower case letters below...

My script is black (on Fly Yellow) and I might even consider having the "Super" in red.... too much bling?

I would need a high rez pic to duplicate what you have, but the amount of time inloved would equal or exceed the costs of starting over and getting you what YOU want....

MY opinion would be to shrink the length of Carrera down and insert "super" in the same plane....same font, which ever YOU choose.

What you might want to do is play with some of the script/cursive writing fonts that are available in Word and see what you like. There are plenty of free software that can drop the script onto the side of a pic of your car...

I saw a font that was similar to the Porsche cursive....let me look and see if I can find a link.
