Question car revs to 2500 rpm's????

Hi guys, got my new sc the other day. All was good until yesterday. Drove it down to Pismo beach. Got into town and rpm's start going up to 2500. What's the problem? Go up to 2500 every time now. Rpms drop when in gear and going. Then back up at the stop light.

Help!!

Throttle position switch would be my first guess. Second would be Idle control valve. Do some searches on both of those items to see what the experts have to say. There was lots of great info when my car did the same. Mine turned out to be the TPS.

It could also be a sticking throttle, or sensor plate or plunger. Possibly an air leak, or maybe a decel valve or AAR problem. Or your mixture could be too lean or your idle speed is incorrectly set. There may also be a distributor/advance problem.
