Too hot in here - Heater problem!!!!!

Just managed to get the car on the road - one problem I've noticed is the cabin is just too hot. It appears I have no control of the hot air entering the cabin.
I reckon when connecting the heater wires from the Auto-Heat to the flapper boxes, the wires were too short or wrong procedure was used - ie Auto heat and flapper boxes not co-ordinated.
Any ideas on connecting this lot up - I'm cooking in here and windows are constantly open.
Cheers
Rob

I'd suggest disconnecting the cables (with the flappers wired closed) or removing the hoses until you can troubleshoot the problem. Others can give you more info on finding the problem in an autoheat system (mine's a Cab so it all manual).

Can you see if the valve is opening & closing when the heater is switched?

I've disconnected the cables and it's at least pretty cool in the cabin again - I reckon the cables supplied are too short - they were a nightmare to fit which involved loads of hassle. Over the weekend I plan to make up a couple of new ones from 18 gauge stainless wire slightly longer than what was supplied.

You might want to look closer at why the cables are fitting short before putting in the time to make and refit new ones. From my own experience, when something like a cable hasn't fit correctly, it was usually that I ran it through the wrong way. IE: doing it the way my engineers brain thought it ought to go rather than how the Porsche engineers designed it to fit.
