Outside Temperature Gauge

I'm interested in learning more about an outside temperature gauge. I noticed it in the literature on the recent thread on the 911 CE models. It was located on the center console. This must have been a factory option.

Nothing turned up using the search feature. Also unable to locate the part on PP too.

Any know anything about this?

(btw: here in Texas it probably has two readings - hot and damn hot!)

The outside temp gauge was included in the '89 Silver Anniversary option package, not the '88 CE cars.

The gauge was mounted in the console unique to those SA cars beween the AC controls. Its a VDO piece. A sensor was mounted under the front bumper to measure the outside temp. Very Cadillac-y...:)

I would imagine the gauge part number is in PET, as I recall that the NLA console is shown there.
