Spacer question

When re installing spacers do I need to torque them ? Is so what #. Should I use some sort of lock tite ? Just curious

DW SD 08-02-2005 06:21 AM

To what spacers are you referring? Maybe a picture would help.

wheel spacers

There are different varieties. Some that are actually adaptors, which bolt to the existing hub and have their own studs. Some that are true spacers and just slip - on to the studs. The latter does not use loctite, but should be torqued.

Again, maybe a picture would help. Hard to read your mind.

Torque them just like wheels.

Anything specific on torque

DW SD 08-02-2005 11:47 AM

I'm thinking 70 to 75 ft-lbs, but someone else should clarify.

All 911 lug nuts prior to 964 have 94 lb-ft torque spec!

I was waiting in great anticipation of Warren diving from the top turnbuckle to drive an elbow into DWSD's temple. Thank you for the show, Warren!

DW SD 08-02-2005 01:01 PM

OUCH - some times we all learn lessons the hard way - that hurt my temple!

Kidding aside, I believe I did suggest someone should clarify.

911SCfanatic 08-02-2005 01:05 PM

Definitely no knock intended on you or Warren, DWSD. I just get a kick out of seeing Warren in action. Don't know why...it just makes me smile. :)

DW SD 08-02-2005 01:07 PM

No question - Warren is the MAN! I'm not trying to be Warren, either. Just trying to help. I will qualify my answers if I'm not 100% sure.
