Fuchs"replicas"

Has anyone ever tried these fuchs replicas I see on Ebay?
what are your thoughts of using them on the track(DE, not racing)
any info appreciated.

The only Fuchs replicas I would use on the track are the ones made by HRE. Anything else would be dangerous.

I agree with Mike. Fuchs replicas will not hold up on the track. I think Lindsay makes a track worthy fuchs replica. If you are looking at used OEM fuchs make sure to inspect them for cracks, or cracks that have been repaired. Either case they will also not be track worthy,

Fine for the street, big NO on the track!

what makes them so untrustworthy? 3/4 of the new wheels out there are cast also.

Searching will net you lots of info on this, but the short answer is that the Fuchs centers gain their strength through the forging process - if you simply cast a wheel with the same dimensions it's not nearly as strong (and there are lots of spectacular failures out there of cast replicas to prove it).

They are too heavy, besides.

Real 6" Fuchs will spin up/down so fast with a Hoosier mounted that you really have to modulate carefully to avoid smoking.
