o2 sensor with headers on 3.2

I tried searching but couldnt find anything to answer my questions.

I just bought some headers for my 3.2 at the John Walker swap meet a few weeks back. Since the headers will delete the cat there will be no place to plug in the 02 sensor. I had a bung welded into one of the headers so i can plug the sensor in. Thing is, it will only read on 3 cylinders since there is only 1 o2 sensor.

Anyone ran into this same delema? Should i just run the o2 on the one side? Unplug the sensor all together? Please show me the setups some of you have used with headers.

here are some pics of the headers, pics shown are before the bung was welded in.

Unless you have a cross over and mount the bung down stream from that.....that is your only option. I ran a single sensor like that for two years....seemed to work OK....thought about putting a splitter on the wires and running both but my smog tech said it would be a waste of time.

3.5L motor based on a 3.2L with 1 5/8" headers. As you discovered, the 02 sensor bung is only on one bank. Shouldn't be a big deal...

I'd leave the sensor connected. It is taken out of the loop anyway during WOT but may help improve gas mileage at part throttle driving. Some people disconnect it and report that throttle response is improved, you may wish to do some "testing" and see what works best for your situation.

Cool, ill use the single bung since its allready in. Ill let you all know how it goes. The headers will go on whenever i can find a dansk 2 in 2 out muffler.

Thanks for the help.
