Elu,
Very informative post..thanks for putting in the time for all of our benefit! Which relay did you use? I saw they have a 30 amp relay good for two fans. Its part number is PRM-18902 at the same online store. Thanks for describing the procedure for supplying power to the fans. Apparently this was the hottest day in Charleston all year, so I'm revisiting the A/C upgrade posts again after 2 years of procrastination. |
I upgraded my A/C with barrier hoses, Sanden compressor, two additional condensers in the left rear wheel well along with an new receiver/dryer and evaporator from Griffiths. It works fine except on days like today. Temp well into the 90's with a heat index over 100.
I'm considering adding fans to the rear condenser and am very intrigued by the evaporator installation. How is the condensation drained? Do you have shots of the smuggler's box etc? |

sorry if I missed this.... did you refill with R134?
also ... the engine has a pretty big fan.... why doesn't this fan pull enough air over the condensor on the back lid? Is it because the condensor has gaps all around? I want to redo my 89 and solve this bad ac issue once and for all. Good job. |
