Ditto what Paul said. Unless I'm traveling, I would be glad to help make you welcome.

Its a 3 part movie of the week for ABC about 9/11, no names have been changed to protect the guilty. We're filming around town and at "The Hearn Building"

I'm in Toronto shooting till the end of August. Not sure which side of the camera you are on, I'm a DP. Then I'm In Vancouver Sept 5-8 shooting a commercial. We should try and hook up for a beer either in Canada or when we are both back in LA. It's August 5th today but we are out of town on location till the 15th What do you do for a living? Steve

I'm responsible for motion picture and television safety for Disney. Sometime in LA. I get to Vancouver as well. Do you know Tim Wade from Local 600? he's a field rep and the labor co-chair of the Industry Wide Labor Management Safety Committee, and a good friend of mine.

Right now, Tues, Wed or Thurs seem fine. Where are you shooting? If you are near the Danforth area there is a place called Allen's. It's low key, has 100s of beers available and good food too.

Ian and Paul,
Thanks, how about Wednesday night? I'm staying at the Intercontinental in downtown Toronto, never been to the city. Is Allen's in Danforth anywhere near there?

Wednesday is fine.
It would be a quick subway ride or a 10 minute cab ride. It's Allen's. I don't know it - Paul's choice. He said it has good food if you want to have a bite, too. You are staying in Toronto's small ritzy area. Cluster of high-rent hotels, cafes, shops etc for the pretty people. Slightly uptown. Ian

Sounds great, looking forward to meeting both of you, and others if it can happen. What time is good for you two, I'll be pretty flexible that day?

Hugh,
If you like, we can come to you at the Intercontinental, which is in a high end neighborhood called Yorkville, which has plenty of glitzy bars and restaurants, probably very familiar feeling to you Hollywood types. If you want something a little less glamorous and a little more "neighborhood", Allen's is straight east down Bloor St, which becomes Danforth Ave. The subway will take you to the Broadview station, from which it is only a two minute walk. Or, as Ian said, it's only about a 10 min cab ride. Let us know what you prefer. I was thinking maybe about 7 or so, and having dinner there as well. I am assuming you are traveling alone, but how about Blanca, Ian? Should we let Lesley and her in on this?

Yeah, Blanca's been good lately, so we better bring the ladies. In Yorkville area, there is the place on the top of the Manulife Centre (& only a block from Hugh's hotel). I haven't been there, but my stepson says it's good. See Panorama. Ian

I'm really fine with anything. I really don't see too much of the Hollywood glitz. If you can meet me at the Intercontinental at 7 in the lobby that would be great. Upscale or downscale either one is fine with me. Yes, I'm traveling alone. I'll be the 50ish, balding white guy who looks like an american, average height and weight.
