Interior lights
My rear window defog pull switch has a bulb in it. What other switches should have lights in them and how do you get at the bulbs? I have a 84 by the way.
Thanks |

The green heater knob should have a bulb in it as well. To get to the bulb, you have to pull out the heater, drain, heater hoses, and cardboard cover. Then you will have access to the rear of the knobs where the bulb is inserted. It took me about a half an hour to pull out all of the parts to get to the rear of the knobs and another half an hour to put the stuff up, so the overall job should take at least 1 hour, possbly 2.

Matt I owe you an apology, I thought you were just throwing in a funny comment but you are right!! there is a process to get at the bulb. Good thing these cars drive so great because a few quirky things like this bulb replacement are a bit of a procedure.
Thanks for the reply |

That's alright. Thanks for the apology. I didn't know exactly what you meant by "funny" Lol. Yeah, it is a hassle to get the stuff out. It's a good rainy day project though. Good luck!

You can also gain access by taking out one of the dials (like the clock), and putting you hand in there - I have tried once, to get to the back of the lighter, but my arm is just to big

The clock portal is an interesting approach.
Are the bulbs the same as the one in the heat lever indicator on the tunnel just behind the gear shift. It's a little square with one bulb in it. I haven't quite figured out how the bulb comes out. I was going to wait to buy new ones to see what the base was like.. |

I don't know about that bulb. Access through the luggage compartment is the only way I know/tried to get out the bulbs succesfully. The bulbs in the knobs are very small round bulbs though.
