How'd I do on the shop labor bill?

I haven't taken a car into a shop in a while, and I've never taken the 911's in, but due to the old "no spare time" syndrome, I just had the 72E in for some corrective surgery.

I don't know what reasonable charges are, but I had done:

Diagnose and correct high idle.
Adjust valves.
Replace rear wheel bearings (new axles while we were in there).
Rebuild rear calipers (new rotors and pads while there).
Replace two wheel studs.
Replace master cylinder.
Set MFI pump timing, ignition timing, and points.

Done by a reputable guy who's been doing P-cars for over 30 years. Labor was $875. Good? Bad? Just interested, I was glad to get it all done in one shot, and right.

Dave,
I'm getting 16 to 20 hours for this work. At $875 thats $44 to $55 per hour. I personally would have charged more. I get $65 an hour.

A 1972 E is well worth an occasional $900 to keep in top shape.

Granted...not second guessing, just seeing if it was in the ballpark.

I'm not counting the parts, they were a given from the get-go.

So long as they hold up their end, you received fair treatment. Your commitment will show when it is whizzing smoothly.

It's whizzing quite smoothly, and I picked up some extra throttle in the process.

Nothing worse than having it run like crap after you drop almost a grand on labor.....good for you.

Fortunately for me, I have friends that help me and me them, on jobs like that.
