If it passes PPI I think it's worth at around $20k.
I've never dealt with that dealer but they always have ads that make the cars look top notch.

If you can't live without it and PPI checks out, I'd say $23k absolute max. Though I'm sure they want more for it than that.

Car looks nice. If the PPI checks out OK I'd say it's worth what Rick says: 23K. Here in Vancouver that car would be advertised for about 29 - 30K US.

A friend bought his 83 SC through this guy last year. It was advertised as mint and looked great in the pictures. It was a 70K mile car but we suspect it has alot more than that. It was also advertised as having the chain tensioner upgrade. While getting something else repaired it was discovered not to have them. He paid 16K for it and has since done another 7K in work on it. Dealer sent him a check for approximately $900 to save his feedback rating. He did not do a PPI.

IMHO, it's worth 20 if the valve guides are original, and 25 if the valve work has been done.

Do a search for the dealer's name on the Rennlist 911 board.

Some of the repair bills are from The Auto Doctor in Key Largo, Fl. Why not call them?

Nice looking. They had one similar to that when I was looking in 2003. I would think that around $20 is a good price considering the miles and equipment (assuming it has all records). Also, a PPI is a must! BTW, this is not an issue to affect price but the steering wheel looks a little funny. May have been recovered.

Looks like it might be a nice original 87, but pics can hide a lot. I agree that the steering wheel looks strange, but aftermarket steering wheels are a nice upgrade anyway. I think it has 6x16 and 7x16 Fuchs and hasn't been lowered... you'd probably end up wanting to move the 7's to the front and get 8's or 9's for the rear and get it lowered... ($1-2k)

It has power door locks (I'd prefer manual), cruise control, and I can't tell if it has manual or auto heat controls (I think manual is better/less troublesome).

The mileage needs to be documented... and you learn so much more if you can see it in person and take it for a drive... I thought most Carrera's had slipped down below $20k (hope I'm wrong) but it depends on location, seller, etc.

Back in May, I paid $18k for an identical '87 Carrera in reasonably good condition with 92k miles on it. Can't overemphaize a PPI. Since then, I've spent another $3k on some repairs, maintenance, and upgrades (e.g., new front pads and rotors, replace A/C condensor, some cracked hoses, etc.). So the $20k value seems about right.
