3.6 934 interpretation is finished!
After 5 long months my car is finally finished. There are some little things to address (engine hesitation at some RPMs, fire suppressing system, connecting the brake cooling holes to the cooling plates etc.) but she's home.
I have to thank a lot of people for the support, ideas, help that I received in these months. This car would not be sitting in my driveway if it was not for them. I will try and make a list but I am sure I'll forget someone. Please accept my apologies in advance... So I'd like to thank Wayne. His 101 projects book and this BBS planted the seed that a 911 is more enjoyable if you "screw" with it a little bit to make it yours... Then Eurowerks (these guys are the best). They put all the pieces back together. Import Paint and Body did the widebody conversion. TRE Motorsport provided the bumpers plus technical advice prior and during the conversion. Dr Steve Timmins at Instant-g and Mike Lindsey for their products, expertise and advice. Chuck at Elephant Racing for his advice on suspension setup and his products. And then all of you guys... I had started to make a list then thoght it was silly... too many names. Now it's time for some pics... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960041.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960079.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960369.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960109.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960151.jpg Some interior pics http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960201.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960244.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960274.jpg Half way to through the wait I started having doubts about the 934 front end... So I ordered the classic IROC/RS bumper... I am going to stick to the 934 for a while... then maybe change it this winter... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123960487.jpg Now some specs... Beautifull!
Did you get the split lockup % Guard LSD? |
So you got it running ok?
|
wow, nice to see it finished. Looks good sans rockers! No badges makes it look clean too... Great job Matteo.
I still am waiting on funds so I can paint my car (and paint the rockers I bought from ya)... |
Great work, Matteo.

Nice Matteo, looks just fabulous!

I did get the split lock up GT LSD. It was the 1st thing I bought, even before the engine... I was rich then... I managed to get the car running a little better (one of the coil plugs contacts was loose) ... but the problem is still there, it hesitates at 3k and 4k. I am going back to VIR tomorrow. We'll see if it is unbearable. I talked to Steve and he's sending a new DME relay, stock chip and some other componets... Greg, DD, Mike thanks for the kind words. I was thinking of putting a Carrera RSR sticker on the engine lid but I have changed my mind. I might get one of those hood crest stickers for the front though. |
What split? please comment on the performance and feel in various conditions at VIR.
|
Wow -- another great project completed. Congrats it looks super.

I had 1 run at VIR on Friday before pulling in because of the hesitation problem. It was my 1st time at VIR with a car which is basically completely new to me. I didn't really push it. Plus since everything was upgraded at the same time it will be difficult to isolate the benefit of the LSD on its own. I am going to Roebling Road next weekend and if I can solve the hesitation issue I should be able to tell you more. As per the specs of the LSD I will need to check. I remember talking to Paul Guard and he suggested going for the least aggressive one as my car is a daily driver... |
The the early g50/20 and 21 ZFs came w/ 25/65 ZF
At some point they switched to 25/65 GKN The 993RS came w/ 40/65 GKN It will be interesting to see how it perforrms, it'ssupposed to be super. Never seen one in an earlier 911 the G50 has been able to use them since day1 and Paul has recently added that as an option for the 915s as well. Hope it all works out, actually I am am sure of it. |
Absolutely gorgeous! Have fun!!

EXCELLENT JOB!
|
Really nice looking. I think I like the look of the IRCO splitter a little better as well.

Welcome to the dark side........the power is intoxicating......
|
Nice, very nice! Congrads!
|
What a kick arse ride, Teo. Fantastic.
Let me know if those wheels and tires slow ya down too much, ok? ;) P.S. I sure liked my 915 box, but the G50 is a real treat, isn't it |
That looks like an awesome package, Matteo. You're going to love it.
|
Job well done. Looks great!!
