trubo fuel pump question

My 79 930 has two stock fuel pumps front and rear. I'm looking to move my rear pump forward for weight distribution reasons and heat reasons. I believe I should be able to keep the front pump stock and feed it into the rear pump after I move it forward. I know the 935s ran three pumps but I don't know if they were in series or run in parallel. Any input would be appreciated.
