It's dirty, black and has yellow eyes!

I picked up a couple of H-4 lenses from JW at the swapmeet a few weeks ago. I turned them yellow and installed them. I've seen them on a couple of SWB's and I kind of liked the look. I also scored a Sparco Pro2000 carbon seat at the Swap. The installation took a bit of work. The seat is fantastic and I'm looking forward to my next track day. I'm not sure if I like the look of the Frog Eyes on my SC,Hmmmmmmmmm, I am anticipating some feedback.

Dave

very nice, i'm thinking about doing the same kinda thing with my car, but using the hella black magic lights, the lense in them is angled so they look black when they are off, i think it'd look kinda sweet. here is what they look like on my durango...

tell me what you guys think.

Joe

Looks good. What did you use to tint them? I used a glass spray years ago, but last time I looked I could not find it?

Vance,
I used Krylon stained glass. It' a PITA to use. The spray tip plugs and needs to be cleaned often. 4 or 5 times while spraying these lenses.

You can buy the spray from http://www.misterart.com/store/view/003/group_id/9082/Krylon-Stained-Glass-Colors.htm

Funny, I just saw this thread 10 minutes after ordering a can myself...

It looks cool, plus it'll make the non-initiated nervous. Have you had a chance to asses the impact on light quality and beam pattern with the yellow?

I like the look. But it reminds me of France (not a fan).

I wonder if I could do that to my H5s? Did you spray the inside or outside?

You'd spray the inside, ideally...

I think that is why most people ditch H5s for H4s.

A few more pictures.

I just got back from one of my favorite drives. Out around Enumclaw and the green river gorge. So I had to take a few more pictures.

Damn, how many buildings you got on that property? That's the one thing about SoCal, no room. My car is in a carport, the 2 car garage has, well, 2 cars in it. Like most of the LA County urbanites, I have no room.

You've got a freaking barn. You need those lights just to drive outta there.

I've been thinking about doing that to my '70 for a while. (Black) so I'm glad to get a non photoshopped image...It's really grown on me throughout the day, especially the latest pics you posted.
