Tachometer

I have a 1984 911 Cabriolet and the tachometer does not operate properly when the headlights or the heater comes on. The tach reads almost double the RPM's. This car did have an aftermarket alarm system on it that has been removed. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Tachs are voltage sensitive. Mine was erratic in reading, often reading 2x the true rpm. A voltage regulator and an alternator later, works like a dream.
