Question on '76S -est. value??

Hi all,

I kind of stumbled on a "barn find" but is in need of lots of work. It is a 76 911s in yellow. The interior is in very, very good shape, the body appears straight, and the paint "seems" original and only in "ok" shape with a few parking lot type dings here and there ...and that's where the good news ends.

The engine and tranny are still there, but halfway disconnected (resting on jack stands but still IN the body), therefore I will assume the worst of them. The rotors are rusted so I assume the calipers may be shot as well. The Fuchs are in just ok shape. And who knows what else. So there you go. Feel free to estimate away ...Thanks!

Edward
BTW, it's in SoCal if anyone is really interested in it.

4k ballpark. Many variables. 76 is the first year that isn't smog-exempt, probably not a good thing for this 2.7 w/ thermal reactors.

A '76S with something wrong with the motor, trans or clutch. Needs paint. Nice interior. I think max value for a '76S running with decent paint, motor and interior is 10k. Subtract 4 to 5k for motor, trans, clutch. Subtract 3K for paint. Gives me a 2 to 3k value. This may be generous, I bought my '76s seven years ago in fair condition for $7,500. Pictures and more details could move this estimate up or down. Rust could be a deal breaker at any price.

gatotom,

I don't "need" another project per se ... just seeing if this was one of those "opportunities" of a lifetime
Indeed, I DO enjoy what I have ...no doubt there!

Hi Jeremy,

I'm gonna pass (already got enough on my plate, really). But if you or anyone you know is looking for what "may" be a deal, I can get the info for you. Let me know

Ed
