3.6l tanslpant fuel line adaption
I am in the process of putting a 1992 964 3.6l motor in my 1981 SC. I have read a few threads on what people have done to modify and adapt the fuel lines, but I didn't find any real good how-to's.
With help via pictures, explanation, and diagrams from those that have already accomplished this I will start and finish a how to right here! I have access to a machine shop w/ cnc so making a fancy fitting or adapter wouldn't be that big of a deal, especially if there are others interested in the adapter. How did you do it? and how could it be done better? I have the fuel filter and a hard line from the 964 motor to possibly use as parts.

First i ordered the lines from instant-G but the quality was bad. They were leaking. Then I went to the local hydraulic-store and asked them to make me new lines. About 60$.

Although I do not have direct experience with a conversion, I had to make some fuel lines for my SC to connect to the return line from the CIS and also had a hydraulic shop make them.
Has worked great.

What are the thread sizes for the SC and 964 motor?
Did you use chassis stock location? Did you use the fuel accumulator?

BAT - INC. has the fittings you need. You can put their hose ends on a -6 AN fuel line. I would suspect they know the fitting dimensions. I used something similar on the stock 993 fuel filter outlet to attach to the 993 fuel injector rail.
On the regulator output, which is low pressure, I have the factory threaded fitting attached to a nipple and slip fit 5mm braided fuel line (bulk line from Pelican) with NORMA hose clamps. I did not use the accumulator, but did use the later fuel pump. Doug

![]() I have a variety of Metric hoses & fittings, and should be able to make up what you want. ![]() ![]() What thread size & style do you need? I can also make up adapter hoses to replace NLA fuel filters w current ones, as with the 73 only CIS assy shown below..... ![]() Please reply by email, no PM's (box is almost always full). Great stuff! I will send you an email when I measure everything out and decide exactly what I need.
Anyone have pictures of how they mounted the filters?

I've seen some nice pictures of 3.6l installs where the 964 fuse box is used and the coils are mounted next to the fuse box. Where did the filters go in these cases?
