Fedex Car Transport?

Anybody have experience with these guys?

http://passport.fedex.com/

It's covered transport for the vehicle. I am shipping Tampa, FL to SLC, Ut for $1854.00. Intercity does not do this route and the DAS posts on the board are a bit scarey to me. I have 3 cars and not enough drivers.

My experience with DAS was excellent and less money to ship from MI to CA! All the post I have read regarding DAS have been positive. My car shipped from Detroit, MI to Hayward, CA in a covered transport, insured for $1200

Jason,
Price seems inline. Thomas Sunday Transport shipped my car from
VA to CO for about the same. Fed-ex did a quote for me,
but I chose TST because they could get it here the quickest.
For some reason certain carriers do not go into FL.
When TST was unloading my car, a guy drove up saying he
had 2 Porsche's in FL he needed transported, driver said
"we dont service FL"

You might call Brian Buxton
He was really helpful when I was considering a transporter.

good luck

If you are in Tampa I would HIGHLY recommend Exotic Car Transport in Orlando (all enclosed). They have moved many cars for me as well as for one of the largest porsche dealers in the country, Champion Porsche in Pompano Beach.
I have no affiliation and I have used other transports for lesser vehilcles but never anyone else for the Porsche. The price is always less than DAS.
good luck -

I've shipped 5 cars from CA to Tampa with DAS and never had one single problem with them. Their depot to depot option is cheap, an granted, their tampa depot (in clearwater) is ugly, but prices are good !

As a FedEx employee I get a good discount on package shipping, I wonder if I can get the same price on car shipping?

You might want to try Reliable and Intercity also. I just got a quote from Passport/Fedex and it was $500 more than Reliable and Intercity. All three are very reputable companies that will handle your car with care.

don't bother with intercity, I've had bad experience.

I gave them 6 weeks notice that I needed a car moved, during each of those 6 weeks, they told me they could do it "next week" towards the end it became "later this week"...eventually it was the friday before our leased car needed to be turned in (on monday) so I flew from NJ to NC picked up the car and drove it home, very frustrated.

Well....for those companies that we even enter Florida for a pick-up, price was all about the same. So I booked Fedex before, oil that is, black gold, Texas tea goes any higher and cost more $. I'll let you know how things go.
