Here's my take:

I wouldn't pay more than 50% of the going rate for a car that has a salvage title. If I did buy one I would be afraid to put any money into upgrades because I know it would be very hard to sell and I wouldn't get a return. But I tend to keep cars for a year or two before I'm ready to try something new, for someone looking at keeping the car long-term the salvage should be less of an issue.

I bought my 930 for 27K. It's a 86 with 68K miles on it. In my opinion with all those mods yours is a hell of a deal. It's got to be the title is all I can figure. Sell off the mods and lower the price. You may be money ahead ( ok I'm drooling thinking of you selling the mods LOL).
Good looking car by the way!

Salvage title says it all. There are some out there that will not care about possible resell issues, but very few will be buying for the purpose of keeping it forever. 911s get pretty big penalties for minor wrecks and paint work as do all upper end sports cars.

If it was me, I would pay maybe $ 20k or upper teens for it and then keep it forever. It would be somewhat liquid at $ 20k and or easier to transfer at that price. Actually, the $ 15k mentioned above may eb the price range that makes it liquid. A good test would be run it on ebay and set reserve at $ 30, but opening bid at $ 5K and see where it ends up on two or three tries.

Anything above $ 20k and it would seem to be a losing proposition ($ wise) for one who is looking to buy it and drive it for only a year or two and then resell. $ 30k can buy a pretty nice 91 with good title these days.

Along the lines of what D Hanson said, There was a black/black 89 on ebay back on july 8th. It had a salvage title. Not a lot of info other than it was an "interior theft". The car had 88k miles and it looked ok from the four pictures that accompanied the listing. It was listed for 10 days. It got 17 bids and the highest was $17,902. It did not sell due to reserve not being met. My take is that little information on the car and its title, not very many pictures did not help this car. The low bids were probably a combination of the above and it having a salvage title. Sometimes you see the same car listed a couple of times but this one has not resurfaced. All that being said, 30K is a little ambitious. I think 25-26 is still a scouch high. Good luck with the sale and like you said if it does not sell, go ahead and enjoy it. You know what you have...

Cheers,
Ricky
