Question for members in the movie biz

I'm wondering if there are any trade publications intended for set designers and the like. Where do these people in the biz go to find locations and cars and boats that are used in movies and such?
How can I find any of these publications.
Thanks.

Kevin;

Try that link. Do a search on Location Managers, they guide the Director to locations that may meet what the Director is looking for. Do a search on Picture Cars for those renting them, and hook up with them for a referral to any you want to lease out.

Hi Kevin,

I used to do alot of movies, but haven't done any in a while, but I remember that production companies had a list with pictures of different cars and their contact info. I remembered that it usually didn't pay very well and the owners had to hang out and wait alot for the scene.

I would think you could contact a prop house, or production company to get on the list.

Thanks for all the leads. I think more specifically what I'm looking for are set designers or companies that rent or sell to the industry.
I recently acquired some very unique furniture items that are too good to throw away but are of no use to me. I might try to move them on e-bay but don't really see that as the best outlet.
I'd like to find someone who can put them to some. if even minor use.

They won't pay you much. I'd try Graig's List. Can you send me an email with some pics? I might be interested myself. My email is enabled again: zeke@pcarfanatic.com (thanks, Pelican)
