What are youry favorite 911 Mufflers/Exhausts?

Since my new subie flat 6 swap kit bolts directly up to Porsche mufflers, I wanted to be able to offer variations when someone buys a build. I currently have a Dansk sport muffler on my test mule, but wanted to get some other options on the list. What are your favorite sounding 911 mufflers? (FYI, my headers have the "diamond" flanges, not the triangle flanges. )

Here's what it sounds like with the Dansk Sport:

Thanks for the input!

I have a 3.6 in my 1980 SC. Ive had several exhausts and Ive settled on the 997 GT3 muffler (on the hi-flow ports) which sounds absolutely amazing on my car with headers from William Knight. It is fairly loud but the tone is beautiful and there is no drone.

I really like my Scart mufflers.

Have one on a 3.4 and a hot rod 3.0 - both 2 in 1 out in stock location.

Guess I'm old school - I always liked the Bursch with glasspack on a 911

I've tried, M&K GT3 Muffler, Bursch sport mufflers with SSIs on my 2.8. My favorite by far is 997 muffler with Brian's RSR headers. The sound with no drone is what I was looking for.

I had Dansk, M&K (several) and finally settled on the AchtungKraft GTK. No drone, and electrically controlled bypass give multiple sound ranges from sneaking out of the neighborhood int he morning to waking up the entire city...

Two favorite mufflers

The prototype Ben McFarland era M&K muffler for Carrera. Ben sent me a muffler a few times to get the tail pipe location and curve right. It was a long can design that sounded like a F1 car at 7K. It also was extremely free revving, like a lightened flywheel. Hard to describe but it radically changed my 84 Carrera back then. Car had heat exchangers with cat delete. I sold the motor to a friend with the muffler (dumb), he sold it years later to a a guy in CT. Wish I could take measurements and have another made. Ben went down to a shorter can for production.

The below is on my car now, custom made by Ben, with George's headers. It's basically a straight through design, headers to pipe, not a whole lot of muffling.

I had stock muffler, then I had a sport, a Bursch, M&K, but the one that works the best is a Bassani with small glass packs right before the outlets. Not only does this sound the best, but it also works the best with my MFI car.

IMO Monty are the best sounding muffler on any air cooled 911. My 3 litre with SSI and 2 in 1 out sounds amazing. Sad he retired and no longer available.

Not sure if Aase updated their page if sold out but they seem to have a few

These mufflers have been discontinued from Monty and will not be made again. Very limited stock remaining and that is it, forever!

I have SSI’s with M&K street version 27ST 2 in 1 out on my 83SC. Love the tone and just loud enough.

I'm pretty happy with my M&K 2-in-1-out. Once it bedded in it was nice and raspy.
