Seatbelt Tension

I have a 74 Targa and the seat belt gets tighter after a few minutes of driving. Across the lap and on the shoulder. I bought a pad for the shoulder, but is there any way to adjust the tension to keep it from getting so tight?

I have the same problem in my 75 Targa. If I put the seat all the way back it relieves it but unfortunately, I am short and need the seat up a bit to reach.

I don't have a solution yet but will monitor and let you know if I come up with something.
