Torsion Bar Adj Lever

While inspecting my front suspension for a front wheel shimmy, I had the car on a frame lift. I noticed that the torsion Bar Adjustment lever (901 341 033 00) was loose and could be moved and jiggled around. Obviously, when the car was weight on wheels, the play was gone and the adjustment screw on it's stop. It appears that the only thing holding this part on is the adjustment screw.

Is this normal? I had my shop install larger torsion bars a while back and have never worked on them myself, so I never noticed this.

Thanks.

Yup- At least that's how it is on my car. The only thing keeping it in place is the adjuster bolt going through that box section.

Not to worry, the installer left it right in the middle of the adjustment range. If it were not loose when unburdened, it would be maxed-out on either the top or bottom stop.
