Low fuel pump pressure

Can anyone let me know what will happen when there is a low fuel pump pressure? Will it cause the engine to misfire, backfire, stall, etc? Is it correct that a weak fuel pump can cause hard starting when the engine is hot. Thanks in advance.

It is a 02 996tt. Actually, I would like to know whether a weak fuel pump will cause the car to misfire, backfire and hard to start when hot, etc? Thanks in advance.
