Morro Bay Canyon Roads?

I am going to be in Morro Bay this weekend and was wondering if there are any nice canyon roads I can go play on in the mornings? I would assume someone on this board has already been exploring up there. Thanks.

Did someone say Morro Bay?

Yes, her horns are real.

You can go up hiway 1 to Cayucos where you turn on old creek road which weaves back up thru the hills to hiway 46. Go east or west on 46 from that junction. If you go west on 46, back towards the ocean, there is a right turn off of it that will take you on a back road into Cambria. Ijust can't remember the name of that road but it's on the maps. Just watch out for CHP on 46. Hiway 41 to Atascadero is nice, but even better from Atascadero to where it joins Hiway 46 in Shandon. Hiway 58 from Santa Margarita to Bakersfield is the ultimate back road with lots of twisties and lonnnng straight aways. Also, little cop activity out there.

Anthony,

Old Creek Road (about half way between Morro Bay and Cayucos) from Highway One. It makes a half circle and comes out at Cambria. Also, from Old Creek Road, go East on Highway 46 to Vineyard, turn left and go all the way to Highway 101, go south to Highway 41, go West back to Morro Bay. There's a few Vineyards along the way. Have fun.

Old creek road is a good one, although it could use a little maintenance in a few spots. Make sure to keep and eye out for cyclists when you start getting closer to Cambria.
