quick ride in project

Moving to the Pittsburgh area from Wisconsin and the movers asked me if the 71' project was driveable enough to get it in the truck. So.... after they left, I fired it up and took a spin up the road. Now we are talking basically astriped shell so I didn't want to push it but the "does it run" challenge was impossible to resist. Someday I'll be able to take it for a spin "legally".

Ah, yes.

The first couple of drives around my rural area, with no headlights in the buckets, no rear window, and lots of other parts in boxes sitting in the garage. Once the car will move under it's own power, the urge to drive it is irresistable.

I know the feeling. I did a full resto on my 74 and had it stripped down to a shell. Once I got the engine and tranny in, I had to fire it up...right. Well once it was fired up and running, I might as well see if I have the clutch and shifter coupling installed properly. So I threw in a mike crate and took if for a spin around the block. I went fairly slowly since I hadn't got around to rebuilding the brake system. It was great inspiration to get me excited over the next 12 months it took to finish the car.

i've been running amok in mine for the past weeks nothing electrical is done yet, and doing speeds good enough to loose my licence... also in the country side. curvey roads, allready annoyed a few bikers because they are short of rubber in the corners
they can't find enough straight road to get rid of me

it does look more completed, it's only the electrical crapola i haven't gotten around to doing
