993 oil pressure help needed

Newbie with a new 993 (new for me, at least) - driving around yesterday and noticed that the oil pressure gauge seemed to dive down to the warning zone under acceleration and then back to normal during idle (at a traffic light for example).

First of all, the oil pressure gauge is the one on the right in the same dial with the fuel gauge. Correct? Think that oil temp and levels are further to the right in the instruments. (Used car without owner's manual, so I'm still trying to find my way around the car.)

Second, temp and oil levels seem normal. Car drives normally. No smoke, no noises, no other indication of problems.

Third, baffled why the gauge would show low pressure under acceleration, but normal at idle. Seems like oil pressure would be present or absent at any rpm as long as the engine is running.

Fourth, I'm a new 993 owner, so all of the above may be a result of a newbie's paranoia with the new car. Still, I know that all things oil related are important with the 993 and don't want to cause damage.

I'll post another message looking for mechanic recommendations in or near Pasadena. I'd be looking for that even without this potential issue, so I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks very much,
Kevin

Kevin,
The guages in 911 aren't too reliable so if the oil level is fine ( checked with engine running on a leveled ground with temp in the normal range ) then you don't have to worry about it...enjoy the drive these are gorgeous cars.
