question on cam timing values
 

Ok, so I've gone through the procedure to set the cam timing, everything's set up, and Im ready to make my initial adjustment for the overlap. I look in Wayne's book and im presensted with two different values for the SC, based on the cam part numbers and also the engine type. So where do i find out what engine type I have. the number on the case doesnt match with whats in appendix A

What's the engine type? 930/10 (R.o.W)? 930/16 (US)? US is timed 0.9-1.1mm. R.o.W is timed 1.4-1.7mm.

Sold new in CA, so its gotta be a US motor, right?

Where do I find the 930/10/16 designation?

On the right side of the fan housing...on the case. Sold new in CA..then it's a US model. Some folks like to advance the timing a bit to lower the power band....you may or may not be interested in doing that, but if you do a search, you'll find more info.

after doing some reading, I've decided to simply time it as stock, I dont need to move the powerband, it already pulls good enough, frequent jumps up to 130+ etc....

Thanks for the info, soon as i get this finished and the valves adjusted, it's road trip time.
