fuel tank replacement
I just got a call from the radiator shop, the fuel tank i pulled on my 1970 911t is leaking under 4 lbs of pressure. i sent it in to have it cleaned and sealed. anyone know a good place to get new/used tanks? I found one for sale from a 1966 912, it looks to be the same shape but i dont know if it will work with the fuel pump in my car. any suggestions?

I JUST pulled mine ('71 E) to put in a fuel cell. It is in good shape and clean. You can have it for $50 plus shipping if you want.
E (rereading, I guess you have found one. Don't know about the 912 tank but if you have MFI, mine would work for you.) |

There are galvanized tanks available for the early body style. I am not sure if Pelican carries it yet. Performance Products carrys one for $324

Keep in mind that the aftermarket fuel tanks (or even a new tank direct from Porsche) don't come with the rubberized coating on the outside. I am trying to determine the best way to apply the coating to my new tank.
