3.2 exhaust note with 964 or 20/21 cams
Does changinging cams on a DME 3.2 change the exhaust note? Would a 964 or 20/21 profile make enough of a timing change to affect the exhaust note?
TIA. j.p. |

I have 20/21 on my 3.4 that was previously a 3.2. It's hard to say because of all the other things done whether it solely has an effect. It does effect the idle causing a lumpiness that sound very racey and nonstock.

Certainly with 993 Supercup cams it changes the exhaust note a lot. These are a little more radical than 964 or 20/21 but it certainly demonstrates a change.

I just put 964 cams in mine and can't really say there is a note change in the exhaust except at idle. I also just added a second outlet to my stock muffler and can really hear the cams at idle. Car does have a lot more top end. Lots more.
