993 Engine Drop/Clutch Job in New Hope, PA

Greetings All,

I am about to embark on a clutch replacement (and the typical "while I was there" items) on my 1996 993. This is in preparation for selling it, there is a small amount of slippage when under heavy load (car has 60K miles).

I've done _many_ engine drops on the classic 911/930 (used to have a proper two post lift in a large garage, and built racecars, etc). I have a copy of the Porsche 993 Service Manual and I have taken a peek at that.

Edit: This is a C2

Anyone done this job? Any significant gotcha's/suprises compared to the trailing arm 911's? My concern is the 993 rear suspension, I would like to remove and install the engine without the car needing to be realigned.

Thanks in advance,

Chris
