oil level gauge
quick question regarding the oil level gauge, mine works but does not actually show the oil level unitl the car is at operating temprature, is this normal?

Yes, operating temperature and on level ground. Be sure to check it against the dipstick at the same time, it should be right in the middle between the two marks.

Car needs to be at idle, warm, and on level surface for the thing to work. If you just came to a stop, give it 30 seconds to stabilize the level in the tank.

Thanks guys thats what I thought. I just got confused, as I was looking at a potential purchase for a friend. Fired the car up and the gauge shot up. Car was cold, immediately I thought hey my doesn't do that. Thanks again.

mine is being kind of strange sometimes is in the red at speed and at idle its in the middle, but other times its in the middle at idle and at speed

Mine is getting converted to a voltmeter as we speak.
